Correction: beehiiv's price climbs with your list, it isn't flat to 100,000

Published

Our beehiiv review wrongly said Lite costs a flat $59/mo up to 100,000 subscribers. beehiiv prices Lite and Pro by list size: Lite is $59/mo at 1,000 subscribers, $139 at 10,000 and $469 at 100,000; Pro runs from $109 to $999 at 250,000.

What changed Before Now
Lite at 10,000 subscribers $59/mo (our error) $139/mo billed monthly
Lite at 100,000 subscribers $59/mo (our error) $469/mo billed monthly
Pro at 250,000 subscribers $109/mo (our error) $999/mo billed monthly

What we got wrong

On October 30 we re-checked our beehiiv review against beehiiv’s pricing page. The page’s FAQ says Lite covers “up to 100,000” subscribers and Pro “up to 250,000.” We read those caps as flat prices and rewrote the review to say Lite stays at $59/mo all the way to 100,000 subscribers. It doesn’t. Those numbers are the largest list each plan can hold, not a price guarantee. The price rises with your list inside each plan.

The mistake reached the review, our beehiiv vs Substack comparison, the email marketing guide and the true-cost calculator. An outside audit of our pricing claims flagged it, and we corrected all four on November 6.

What beehiiv actually charges

These are monthly prices, billed monthly, from beehiiv’s pricing page as of November 6, 2026. Billing yearly is 13–17% cheaper, depending on the list size.

SubscribersLitePro
Up to 1,000$59$109
2,500$79—
10,000$139$239
50,000$299—
100,000$469 (Lite’s limit)$699
250,000—$999 (Pro’s limit)

Free still covers up to 2,500 subscribers. Above 250,000, beehiiv quotes Enterprise pricing.

What it means if you compared beehiiv with Substack

Substack charges nothing upfront and keeps 10% of paid-subscription revenue. beehiiv keeps 0% but charges a monthly fee that grows with your list. We had the break-even point too low. With a list of up to 1,000 subscribers, beehiiv Lite pays for itself once paid subscriptions bring in about $590 a month. At 10,000 subscribers you need about $1,390 a month. The comparison page shows the working.

We’ve changed how we check plans that list subscriber caps: we now verify the subscriber limit and the price at that limit as two separate facts, not one.
