Chipp review
AI agent builder at a single $299/mo price with HIPAA compliance on every plan

ToolsGavel verdict
A real, differentiated tool for one specific case, a HIPAA-compliant agent platform with a flat price and unlimited users, but at $299 a month it is no longer a budget option, and the near-total lack of independent reviews leaves vendor claims unchecked. Worth considering only if the compliance fit is the deciding factor and the price fits.
Audited price: $299/mo month-to-month (advertised: $299 a month. Every feature. ($100 of AI usage included; +$2,500 one-time on the configured-template option)) — verified 2026-11-08.
Best for: Teams that need HIPAA- and SOC 2-compliant agents, can pay $299/mo, and can accept a startup with almost no independent reviews
What we liked
- HIPAA compliance with a signed BAA and SOC 2 Type II sit behind every plan, a real differentiator for a healthcare-adjacent intake bot that none of this guide's other tools lead with (chipp.ai/pricing)
- One flat platform price with unlimited users and unlimited agents, so adding people or bots doesn't change the bill; only AI usage above the included $100 does (chipp.ai/pricing)
- A free 20-minute build session where Chipp builds your first tool with you before you pick a plan, a low-risk way to test fit without paying first (chipp.ai/pricing)
- Backed by a named, funded team, a $2M seed round led by Homegrown Capital at roughly an $11M valuation, rather than an anonymous shell (blog.midweststartups.com, m25vc.com)
- Documents a genuine sell-access-to-your-agent monetization path, relevant to anyone who wants to productize a bot rather than just run it internally; none of this guide's other tools document that path (chipp.ai/docs/guides/selling-access)
What to watch
- The entry price is $299/mo with no cheaper self-serve tier on the pricing page, roughly 8 to 12 times the monthly cost of Landbot's or Tidio's paid plans. We saw no free plan or trial there either (chipp.ai/pricing, 2026-11-08)
- There is no usable rating on any review platform. G2 says outright there aren't enough reviews to provide buying insight, Capterra and Trustpilot have no listing at all, and SourceForge and Slashdot both show zero reviews. A few aggregator blogs cite an unsourced 4.5/5 figure this review could not trace to a primary source, so it is not repeated here (G2, SourceForge, Slashdot, 2026-10-30)
- AI usage above the included $100 is billed at the model providers' price plus 30%, so a high-volume bot on a premium model can cost well beyond $299/mo, and the page gives no usage cap or overage estimate (chipp.ai/pricing)
- Chipp's pricing has changed recently and its own pages haven't caught up: the docs pricing guide still shows a Builder and Studio ladder that no longer appears on the pricing page, so check the current price before you buy (chipp.ai/docs/guides/pricing-and-usage)
- Early-stage company risk applies: seed-funded, founded 2023, small team, ordinary for a startup but worth weighing against a bigger, better-reviewed platform for a mission-critical bot (blog.midweststartups.com)

Chipp is an AI agent builder that puts HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II compliance on every plan, which matters if you’re building an intake bot for a healthcare-adjacent business. Two things belong in the lead. First, Chipp now sells one platform price, $299 a month, and our earlier review listed a $29 entry plan that no longer appears on its pricing page, so it is no longer a budget pick. Second, there is no usable independent rating for Chipp on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot to check vendor claims against. Chipp is a real, seed-funded company founded in 2023, not a shell operation, but its thin public track record belongs in the decision up front.
What Chipp is for
Chipp lets a team build an AI agent for support, intake, or internal use, with HIPAA (under a signed BAA) and SOC 2 Type II compliance included on the one plan it sells rather than gated behind an enterprise tier. That compliance bundling is the product’s real pitch: a clinic, therapy practice, or other healthcare-adjacent business can run a compliant intake bot without negotiating a custom contract. Unlimited users and unlimited agents come with the $299 price, so a growing team doesn’t pay more just for adding people or bots.
The price, and what changed
| Option | Monthly price | One-time fee | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself | $299 | None | You build it from a template or blank page, with help docs, videos and a community Slack |
| Configure your template | $299 | $2,500 | Chipp sets up Business Brain, Personal Assistant or Project Manager on your data and tools and trains your team |
| Custom build | $299 | Custom scope | Chipp scopes and builds custom workflows, software and agents on the same platform |
All three run on the same platform, and each includes $100 of AI usage a month. Above that, usage bills at the model providers’ price plus 30%. We saw no monthly-versus-annual toggle on the page, so $299 a month is the only price to plan around.
This review previously listed a $29 Builder plan, a $99 Studio plan and a $299 Studio Pro plan, plus separate $2,500 and $12,500 managed tiers. On November 8, 2026 the pricing page showed none of the lower plans, and the page’s own headline reads “$299 a month. Every feature.” Chipp’s docs pricing guide still shows an older ladder, so the docs and the pricing page disagree. We could not confirm whether anyone can still buy a cheaper plan inside the app without creating an account, so treat $299 as the price a new buyer should expect.
How usage is metered
Usage bills in dollars of AI cost, tracked underneath in tokens, roughly 4 characters or three-quarters of a word each, with a typical reply spending 500 to 1,000 tokens. What a message actually costs depends on which model an agent uses: Chipp’s own docs cite GPT-5 Nano at roughly $0.065 per million input tokens against Claude Opus 4.8 at roughly $6.50, a hundredfold spread for the same reply volume. The $100 monthly allowance covers a lot of traffic on a cheap model and very little on a premium one, so the real bill depends on your model choice more than on the platform price. The pricing page and the docs both describe usage-based billing above the allowance, but the docs’ per-model rates and plan table date from before the price change, so confirm current rates with Chipp.
What users say, or rather, don’t
There isn’t a review base to summarize here, and that absence is itself the finding worth reporting plainly.
G2 states there aren’t enough reviews of Chipp to generate buying insight. No
Capterra listing exists.
Trustpilot searches return an unrelated finance app and a coffee company, not Chipp. SourceForge and Slashdot both show zero reviews, “be the first.” Some review-aggregator blog posts cite a 4.5/5 score from 15 reviews, but the page that score supposedly comes from could not be located, so this review doesn’t repeat it as a verified number. What is verifiable: Chipp is a real, funded company, a $2M seed round led by Homegrown Capital at roughly an $11M valuation, founded in 2023 by Scott Meyer and Hunter Hodnett, with gener8tor, M25, and Cambrian Ventures also participating.
Who should consider it, and who should skip it
Consider Chipp only if HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance with a signed BAA is the deciding factor and $299 a month is within budget, a healthcare intake bot that a general-purpose tool can’t cover, for instance. Everyone else should look elsewhere: at $299 a month with zero usable ratings on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot, there’s no independent way to check vendor claims against real customer experience, a meaningfully higher-risk profile than any other tool in Best AI Chatbots for Lead Generation. For a lead-gen bot without the compliance requirement, Tidio and Landbot both carry a far larger, more trustworthy review base at a fraction of the price; for a team that wants multi-model flexibility and a code option instead of compliance, Botpress is the other developer-leaning addition to this guide.
Pricing note: As of 2026-11-08, chipp.ai/pricing shows one platform price: $299/mo with every feature, unlimited users and agents, and $100 of AI usage included each month. The three cards differ only in how much of the build Chipp does: Do it yourself at $299/mo, Configure your template at $299/mo plus a $2,500 one-time fee, and Custom build at $299/mo plus a custom scope. AI usage above the $100 bills at the model providers' price plus 30%. We saw no monthly-versus-annual toggle and no free plan or trial on the page; the only free offer is a 20-minute build session. The $29 Builder and $99 Studio plans this review listed before are no longer on the pricing page, and Chipp's docs still mention them inconsistently, so we no longer treat them as available.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Chipp actually cost?
$299 a month for the platform, with every feature, unlimited users and agents, and $100 of AI usage included. That is the only price on chipp.ai/pricing as of November 8, 2026. A configured template adds a $2,500 one-time setup fee, and a custom build adds a custom scope on top of the $299. AI usage above the $100 bills at the model providers' price plus 30%. Earlier this review listed $29 Builder and $99 Studio plans; those no longer appear on the pricing page.
Does Chipp have a good rating on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot?
No usable rating exists on any of them as of October 2026. G2 states there aren't enough reviews to provide buying insight. Capterra and Trustpilot have no Chipp listing at all, and SourceForge and Slashdot both show zero reviews. A handful of review-aggregator blog posts cite a 4.5/5 figure, but the primary source for that number could not be located, so this review does not repeat it as verified.
Is Chipp HIPAA compliant?
Yes, on every plan. Chipp's pricing page says HIPAA is on every plan with a signed BAA, with SOC 2 Type II behind it. Compliance isn't reserved for a higher tier, but with a single $299 plan there is no cheaper tier either.
What happens if I go over my included AI usage on Chipp?
Every plan includes $100 of AI usage a month. Above that you pay for what you use, billed at the model providers' price plus 30% for the Chipp platform. The page doesn't cap usage or estimate a typical monthly overage, so ask Chipp for an estimate based on your expected message volume and model.
Does Chipp have a free plan?
Not one we could find. chipp.ai/pricing shows no free plan or trial as of November 8, 2026. It offers a free 20-minute build session in which Chipp builds a first tool with you, but that is a sales call, not a plan. We did not create an account to check what the signup flow shows.
Bottom line
A real, differentiated tool for one specific case, a HIPAA-compliant agent platform with a flat price and unlimited users, but at $299 a month it is no longer a budget option, and the near-total lack of independent reviews leaves vendor claims unchecked. Worth considering only if the compliance fit is the deciding factor and the price fits.
