ToolsGavel verdict
Leadpages wins on price at every comparable tier: its Grow plan ($50/mo on the pricing card, $99 in its FAQ) already includes A/B testing that Unbounce doesn't unlock until $149/mo, plus unlimited traffic with no overage fees on every plan. Unbounce earns its higher price with a builder purpose-built for paid-traffic campaigns and a Smart Traffic engine many marketers consider the more polished of the two, though it costs $249/mo there versus $100/mo on the Leadpages pricing card ($199/mo in its FAQ). Pick Leadpages if you're watching a small-business budget; pick Unbounce if campaign polish matters more than the entry ticket.
Which one should you pick?
Choose Leadpages if…
- You want A/B testing without crossing $100 a month (Grow is $50 on the pricing card, $99 in its FAQ).
- Traffic spikes worry you: every tier has unlimited traffic and no overage fees.
- You want automated variant routing (Smart Traffic) at $100 a month on the pricing card ($199 in its FAQ) instead of $249.
Choose Unbounce if…
- Your work is paid search or paid social and you want a builder made for that job.
- You want popups, sticky bars and a Smart Traffic engine many paid-media marketers rate as more refined.
- The extra $50 to $149 a month at the automated tier is worth it for tighter cost-per-acquisition work.
| Criterion | ||
|---|---|---|
| Cheapest plan with real A/B testing | Grow, manual A/B testing included: $50/mo on the pricing card ($99 in its FAQ) | $149/mo Experiment; the $29/mo Starter tier has none |
| Automated variant routing (Smart Traffic) | Optimize plan: $100/mo on the pricing card ($199 in its FAQ) | $249/mo Optimize plan |
| Traffic limits | Unlimited on every tier, no overage fees | Visitor caps on every tier, including the 500-visitor Starter plan |
| Lowest sticker price | Grow at $50/mo on the card ($99 in the FAQ), and that already includes A/B testing | $29/mo Starter, a bare builder with no A/B testing |
| Campaign-page focus | General landing pages and lead-gen sites | Built specifically around paid search and social campaigns |
| Best fit | Budget-conscious small businesses and solo marketers | Teams running serious paid-traffic volume |
What each one really costs
| Audited pricing | ||
|---|---|---|
| Advertised price | $50/mo (Grow, billed monthly, pricing-card price) | $29/mo (Starter, billed monthly) |
| Real monthly cost, billed annually | $40/mo | $22/mo |
| Real monthly cost, month-to-month | $50/mo | $29/mo |
| Month-to-month premium | +25% | +32% |
| The billing catch | About $40/mo if billed annually, but Smart Traffic does not unlock until Optimize at $100/mo, double the entry tier. The same page's FAQ still quotes $99 for Grow, so confirm the recurring price at checkout. | $22/mo if billed annually, but Smart Traffic, the AI routing feature that is the actual reason to pick Unbounce, sits on Optimize at $249/mo, three tiers up and 8.6x the price. |

The short answer
Leadpages and Unbounce both build landing pages meant to convert, but they’re priced for different buyers. Leadpages puts A/B testing on its Grow plan ($50/mo on the pricing card, $99/mo in its FAQ) and never caps your traffic, on any tier. Unbounce reserves real testing for its $149/mo Experiment tier and meters visitors even on its cheapest plan. Watching a small-business budget, Leadpages gets you conversion tools sooner and cheaper. Running serious paid-traffic campaigns with a builder tuned specifically for that job, Unbounce’s higher price buys polish Leadpages doesn’t try to match.
Where each pulls ahead
Leadpages wins on math. Grow, its entry tier, bundles manual A/B testing, dynamic text replacement and unlimited traffic for $50/mo on the pricing card ($99/mo in the page’s FAQ), with no overage fees regardless of volume. Move up to Optimize at $100/mo ($199/mo in the FAQ) and Smart Traffic takes over variant routing on its own. The same job costs $249/mo on Unbounce, $50 to $149 more a month for equivalent automation. Leadpages’s page does not say which set of prices is the recurring one, so confirm at checkout.
One catch worth flagging: Leadpages also sells publishing-only plans, Pro at $15/mo and Business at $25/mo, on the same pricing page. They publish pages with zero A/B testing, so don’t mistake them for Grow or Optimize when you’re lining up prices.
Unbounce wins on focus. The builder targets paid-traffic campaigns specifically, with templates built around matching ad copy to landing-page headlines, popups and sticky bars from the Build tier up, and a Smart Traffic engine that a lot of paid-media marketers rate as the more refined of the two. Unbounce’s $29/mo Starter plan technically undercuts Leadpages on sticker price, but it caps you at 500 visitors and skips A/B testing entirely, so it isn’t really the same category of product at that tier.
Our recommendation
Choose Leadpages if you’re a small business or solo marketer who wants A/B testing and unlimited traffic without crossing $100 a month. It covers real conversion testing at a price Unbounce doesn’t match until $149/mo, and a traffic spike never triggers an overage bill.
Choose Unbounce if you run meaningful paid-search or paid-social volume and want a platform built around that specific job. The extra $50 to $149/mo over Leadpages at the automated-optimization tier buys a sharper tool for a team whose work is squeezing down cost-per-acquisition.
