Woodpecker now bills by emails sent, not contacted prospects
Published
Between October 19 and October 30, 2026, Woodpecker switched from charging by contacted prospects to charging by emails sent. The entry Email plan is now $39/mo for 5,000 emails; it used to be $35/mo for 500 prospects, which allowed up to 8,000 emails. Small senders pay a little more, some mid-volume senders pay less, and the gaps between tiers are wider.
| What changed | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | Contacted prospects (each allowed up to 16 emails) | Emails sent per month, follow-ups included |
| Entry plan, billed monthly | $35/mo for 500 prospects (up to 8,000 emails) | $39/mo for 5,000 emails |
| Entry plan, billed yearly | $280/yr | $312/yr ($26/mo) |
| About 30,000 emails a month | $67/mo (2,000 prospects, up to 32,000 emails) | $79/mo (50,000 emails) |
| About 100,000 emails a month | $159/mo (8,000 prospects, up to 128,000 emails) | $119/mo (100,000 emails) |
| $29/mo per connected account, as an add-on | $29/mo LinkedIn-only plan, or $68/mo Multichannel (email + LinkedIn) |
What changed
On October 19 Woodpecker’s pricing page still billed by contacted prospects: $7 per 100 at the bottom of the scale, with each prospect allowed up to 16 emails a month, follow-ups included. When we re-checked on October 30, that model was gone. The page now sells three plans. Email is priced by emails sent per month. Multichannel adds one LinkedIn account. LinkedIn-only is $29/mo. Mailboxes, team seats and email verification are still unlimited on the Email and Multichannel plans.
The Email plan now steps up like this, billed monthly: $39 for 5,000 emails, $79 for 50,000, $119 for 100,000, $219 for 250,000, $499 for 500,000 and $999 for 1,000,000. Billing yearly takes a third off.
Who pays more, who pays less
It depends on how many emails you actually send, not on how many people you contact.
- Small senders pay a bit more. Under 5,000 emails a month, the entry plan went from $35 to $39.
- Senders between 5,000 and 50,000 emails feel the gap most. Nothing sits between the $39 and $79 tiers, so a team sending 8,000 emails a month went from $35 to $79.
- Around 100,000 emails a month got cheaper. That volume used to need the 8,000-prospect plan at $159. Now it’s $119.
- Long follow-up sequences cost more than before. The old plans gave each prospect up to 16 emails, so long sequences were effectively free. Now every follow-up counts against your email limit.
What to do
Check your last month’s sent count in Woodpecker, then find the tier that covers it on the list above. If you’re just over a tier limit, cutting one follow-up step may keep you on the cheaper plan.
