ToolsGavel verdict

A sending tool for a team that would rather pay for email volume than for seats or mailboxes, and the unlimited-seat structure pays off as a team grows. The Trustpilot billing complaints and the lack of a published price table past the entry tier are worth weighing against your own expected volume before you commit to annual billing.

Cold Email Software From $29/mo

Audited price: $29/mo month-to-month (advertised: $29/mo (LinkedIn-only, billed monthly)) — verified 2026-10-30.

Best for: Outbound teams who want to pay by emails sent instead of per mailbox or per seat, and are comfortable managing their own warmup settings

Try Woodpecker Last verified: November 6, 2026

What we liked

  • Unlimited email accounts and unlimited team seats on every tier, so adding mailboxes or teammates never triggers a plan upgrade, only sending more email volume does
  • In-house referral program pays 20% recurring commission on every payment a referral makes, uncapped, with a 30-day last-click cookie
  • G2 reviewers rate it 4.5 from around 105 reviews, with setup speed and support response time as the most repeated praise
  • 14-day (or 500-email) free trial with no credit card required, enough to test deliverability before paying anything

What to watch

  • Pricing now splits across three separate plan types, Email, Multichannel and LinkedIn-only, rather than one scaling ladder, and the live pricing page doesn't show how the price changes past the 5,000-email entry point, which makes budgeting for growth harder without talking to sales
  • Trustpilot rating sits far below G2, at 2.5 from 34 reviews, with billing and cancellation disputes, including refused refunds, as the dominant complaint
  • G2 reviewers flag missing native AI drafting and summarization tools and shallower CRM sync than newer sequencers offer
  • A few G2 reviewers describe the warmup emails Woodpecker sends to build sender reputation as generic filler, unrelated to their business, without much upfront explanation of what warmup mail looks like

Woodpecker is a cold email sending tool built in Wroclaw, Poland, aimed at outbound teams who outgrow sending from a single inbox. Rather than charging per mailbox or per team seat, it bills on emails sent in a given month, regardless of how many mailboxes you spread that load across. Every account gets unlimited email accounts, unlimited team members and unlimited email verification, so your actual sending capacity depends only on your monthly email volume, not on how your team is structured.

What you get on each plan

Woodpecker restructured its pricing since our last check into three separate plan types rather than one scaling ladder. The entry Email plan costs $39/mo and covers up to 5,000 emails sent a month; from there it steps up to $79 for 50,000, $119 for 100,000, $219 for 250,000, $499 for 500,000 and $999 for 1,000,000 emails a month. Multichannel combines email and one LinkedIn account for $68/mo at the same 5,000-email entry volume, and is the plan Woodpecker now badges as most popular. A LinkedIn-only plan runs $29/mo for one connected account, with up to 250 direct messages a day, 50 InMail messages a month, 30 connection requests a day and 500 profile visits a day. Every Email and Multichannel tier includes unlimited mailboxes, unlimited seats, catch-all email verification, a handful of free warmup slots, and 100 Lead Finder credits for sourcing new contacts. Needs beyond the published volume tiers go through a custom Scale plan via a sales call. Annual billing takes a third off, so the entry Email plan works out to $26/mo ($312 a year). Add-ons sit outside the base price: extra warmup slots cost $5/mo each, additional hosted email addresses run $4-6/mo each, and an agency client panel runs $27/mo per active client. There’s a 14-day trial, or 500 sent emails, whichever comes first, and no credit card is required to start it.

Where the bill grows

Under the old model, $35/mo bought 500 contacted prospects, which Woodpecker counted as up to 8,000 emails a month including follow-ups. The new Email plan’s entry tier costs $39/mo for 5,000 emails, so a small team that leans on long follow-up sequences gets fewer emails for slightly more money, while a team sending to many new contacts with short sequences is roughly where it was. The jump from 5,000 to 50,000 emails ($39 to $79) is generous, but there is nothing in between, so a team sending 8,000 to 10,000 emails a month pays the 50,000-email price. The plan split is also a cost decision now: a team that only needs email pays $39/mo on the Email plan, while one that wants LinkedIn outreach too pays $68/mo for Multichannel rather than adding LinkedIn as a smaller add-on the way the pricing page once allowed. We logged the switch in our pricing note on Woodpecker’s new billing.

What users say in reviews

G2 reviewers rate Woodpecker 4.5 from around 105 reviews, and the praise clusters around setup speed and a support team that responds fast when something breaks. Capterra lands at a similar 4.5 from 33 reviews. Trustpilot tells a different story: 2.5 from 34 reviews, with the recurring complaint being billing and cancellation disputes, including accounts charged after a reviewer believed they’d cancelled, and refund requests that got refused. G2 reviewers separately note that Woodpecker lacks the native AI drafting tools newer sequencers now ship with, and a few mention that the warmup emails it sends to build sender reputation read as generic filler, unrelated to their actual business, without much upfront explanation of what warmup mail looks like before it starts landing in their sent folder.

Who should skip it

Skip Woodpecker if you want a flat price you can budget months in advance. The usage-based model rewards a team with a stable, predictable sending volume and penalizes an unpredictable one, since the invoice tracks volume rather than staying fixed. It’s also worth reading the Trustpilot complaints before committing to annual billing, since the refund and cancellation pattern there differs from what G2 reviewers describe. For a broader shortlist of what else outbound teams use, see the cold email software guide; for a sending tool built around unlimited mailboxes at a flat per-tier price instead of per-email billing, the Instantly review covers that alternative approach.

Pricing note: Woodpecker restructured its pricing since our last check: it now runs three separate plan types, priced by emails sent per month rather than by contacted prospects. Email starts at $39/mo for up to 5,000 emails sent and climbs with volume: $79 for 50,000, $119 for 100,000, $219 for 250,000, $499 for 500,000 and $999 for 1,000,000 emails a month. Multichannel (email plus one LinkedIn account), the plan Woodpecker now badges as most popular, starts at $68/mo at the same 5,000-email entry volume. A LinkedIn-only plan runs $29/mo for one connected account, with up to 250 direct messages a day, 50 InMail messages a month, 30 connection requests a day and 500 profile visits a day. Every Email and Multichannel tier bundles unlimited mailboxes, unlimited team members, unlimited email verification, a handful of free warmup slots and 100 Lead Finder credits a month. Needs beyond the published volume tiers go through a custom Scale plan via a sales call. Annual billing takes a third off: the 5,000-email Email plan is $312 a year, or $26/mo. Extra warmup slots ($5/mo each), additional hosted email addresses ($4-6/mo each) and an agency client panel ($27/mo per active client) are separate add-ons. There's a 14-day or 500-sent-email trial, whichever comes first, no card required.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Woodpecker cost?

Woodpecker now charges by emails sent per month across three plan types, not by contacted prospects (the switch landed in late October 2026). Email starts at $39/mo for up to 5,000 emails sent, then $79 for 50,000, $119 for 100,000 and $219 for 250,000; Multichannel (email plus one LinkedIn account), the plan Woodpecker badges as most popular, starts at $68/mo at the same entry volume; a LinkedIn-only plan runs $29/mo. Higher email volumes, up to 1,000,000 a month, run through the same Email or Multichannel plan via a selector on the live pricing page, and needs beyond that go through a custom Scale quote. Annual billing advertises a 33% discount. Mailboxes, team seats and email verification are unlimited on every Email and Multichannel tier.

Does Woodpecker have a free plan or trial?

There's no permanent free plan. Woodpecker offers a 14-day trial, or 500 sent emails, whichever comes first, and doesn't ask for a credit card to start it.

Woodpecker vs Instantly: which is cheaper?

It depends on volume, though both now charge on the same basic unit, emails sent. Instantly's Growth plan is $47/mo ($37.60/mo billed annually) for 5,000 emails and 1,000 active leads a month, with unlimited mailboxes and warmup included. Woodpecker's Email plan starts at $39/mo for the same 5,000-emails-a-month entry volume, also with unlimited mailboxes and warmup bundled in, so Woodpecker is cheaper at that entry tier, though Instantly's plan caps active leads at 1,000 while Woodpecker's doesn't publish an equivalent cap. Run both calculators against your real numbers once you're comparing higher tiers, since neither page lines up its next price break the same way.

What do Woodpecker reviewers complain about most?

Two different pictures show up depending on the platform. G2 reviewers mostly praise setup speed and support, with complaints limited to missing AI features and CRM depth. Trustpilot reviewers (2.5/5 from 34 reviews) mostly report billing and cancellation disputes, including refused refunds after a plan change. Read both before committing to annual billing.

Bottom line

A sending tool for a team that would rather pay for email volume than for seats or mailboxes, and the unlimited-seat structure pays off as a team grows. The Trustpilot billing complaints and the lack of a published price table past the entry tier are worth weighing against your own expected volume before you commit to annual billing.
